This stuff just humbles me all the time. I like to think I'm a fairly intelligent person, but I swear I do some stuff that clearly proves I'm a water head. Just spun my platform all of about 60 degrees because I realised I couldn't draw to the right. You know how many times I've set up here the same wrong way? A lot. Oh well fixed now but damn.

He followed the does out onto an oak flat. Only got a short glimpse of him.

I'd name him crawdad if I named deer.

Reminds me of their feet when I used ro catch them in the creek(crick) as a kid.

Sure, it stopped raining for the last hour of the day. I would’ve sat two hours in the rain if I knew it was going to stop for the last hour!!
I bet the deer are seriously on the move right now :rant::rant:

Freezing temps overnight and refrigerator highs for my first sit next Friday.

If I can shoot a doe early will be cool enough to stuff one with ice and get back in a tree.

Well that’s it for me, nothing again tonight. Pretty sure I bumped a buck on the way out in the dark, I could smell him. The good thing is that I had the wind in my face and he could probably only hear something coming towards him....

Leaves are taking an absolute pummeling by the steady rains today. Hunting ground hasn't gotten as much yet, but its currently in the heavier and more persistent stuff. Get a couple hard freezes next week and leaves should really start dropping leading into my rutcation.

I'm back home now and the phone is plugged in.

I saw one more deer after he last update - a gigantic deer that came out of the thick cover at last light close to where Ghost had been bedded. It was too dark to make out antlers, but it was a big deer.

Guys, this was one of the best, most entertaining sits I've ever had.

It was an all day sit but there was only about a two hour window with no activity.

Tomorrow is supposed to be the best day of the new moon too. :tu:

nothing for my son and i. conditions were crap. pouring rain and 40mph wind. i found a hunting partner for life. he's as die hard as i am. he was quiet and focused the entire time we are out there in that crap. i figured he would've only lasted an hour but he lasted the whole time. needless to say it will be much easier to take him on the next hunt.
