Well, I had the North right part right? 50% is pretty good for me! I am very interested to see what happens with you. I was just telling the wife I may make a trek up to the northern part of the state in lieu of my Kentucky trip! Thanks

I’m hoping to get out for a hunt tonight, but looking at the radar it probably won’t happen

The big buck finally got up and I had to watch him go west. Josh was sure he'd come north but it wasn't gonna happen.

He ignored the grunt call completely.

When I looked for the big 8 he was gone too.

Still, what a great sit this has been!

I guess I'll stick it out until at least 2:00. I'm hungry and I've been out of water for hours.

A morning hunt would have been perfect but family first.
Our PM hunt, the first of the year, has been rained out.
The big bucks get free run of the woods a bit longer.
    Good luck out there Y’all.

Well winds going to be ESE. This would blow right over the gully and across opposite ridge. Most tracks are coming up out of gully. I don't know if thats in evening as well as mornings. So looks like I have to go down to far side of property catch them coming up out of swamp.
No hunting tomorrow, all day wind driven rain. 27 mph.

It's 5 1/2 hours until dark, I could afford to miss a meal and I'm not really thirsty.

I'm thinking that if I try to walk out of here I will most likely bump one or both of those bucks.

I think the best option is to suck it up and sit until dark. There is still a chance at both bucks if I stay.

Good luck afternoon shift. Nothing after the fork at 10:30 for me. On the plus side, my binos seemed to have survived the 18ft fall from the tree after the harness broke.

I took the plunge and moved the climber. There was nothing on the cam. So I'm now very close to bedding. Been walking, taking down and setting back up for 3 hrs. 3.5hrs to go. Let's see what's up here.

All it takes is one doe to come by you and the bucks might follow

    That's true.

This has already been one of the best sits ever for me but I sure was getting tired of standing up. Both of those bucks were bedded behind me and I wasn't willing to turn around to sit down.

Now that I have a minute to relax I can share this:

That spike must have finally caught up with the big 8 over to the west because all hell broke loose over there, the squirrels went berserk and that spike came flying back at Mach 2.

    That actually made me laugh.

.....and it's starting to rain and I don't have any stinkin'rain gear. As long as it stays a light drizzle I'll try to stick it out.

Still looking for the post where climbing down was even an option

Granted the rut is about to start up, but keep this mornings conditions in mind. Might come in handy for a late season move on one of them if they survive until then.
