    I guess that's about it for this sit. It was nice and comfortable but the deer just weren't here this morning.

    I WILL kill a deer before I go home this coming weekend.

    Mike shot a buck

    Mike posted in the live thread he shot the buck.

    Mike was not heard from again

    A good while later a teammate of Mike's or someone browsing their thread mentioned in the live thread Mike had posted pics of his buck in his team thread.

    Mike has been shamed ever since.

    Basically he left everyone hanging. Most of us assumed it was a nonrecovery and he was embarassed to post about it or something.

    Had actually wrote it off as such, then when we found out he posted it in his team thread.

    Unwritten rule of LFTS is update your result if you made a post about shooting a deer. Many who have signal will update along the track either seeking advice or entertaining those of us following from home or on stand.

    We all lose deer, chit happens. Only time we give grief in that instance is if they said they gutshot one, everyone tells them to back out 8 hour min. Then 45 minutes later they state they bumped it from a bed and tracked for half an hour and lost blood.

    In Mike's case it wasn't even a lost deer :lol:

    I got ya. Damn, I was really hoping y’all were going to say he shot a tiny little 3 pointer in the antler. My buddy sent me a photo from one of his trail cams a couple years ago of that very thing. Had a broad head with a couple inches of arrow attached that was stuck right into the base of the antler. Never figured out who shot it and is still pissed about it to this day.

    One it was actually a really nice buck that I shot and died maybe 120 yards from impact!! BUUUUUUTTTTT no one remembers that! Lol

    I sat morning and evening on Saturday and Sunday and the only thing I’ve got to show for it is one single squirrel, and it’s a pretty small squirrel at that. I didn’t even see a deer. Kind of discouraging since I rarely sit in a stand on that property without at least seeing something, much less have it happen 4 times in a row.

    I'm back on stand on the second farm.

    I got here early with the intention of moving to a different spot but that would require climbing up, getting my hooks and strap, climbing down, packing up, moving and climbing again. It's too freakin' hot for all that activity so I'll give this stand one more sit and carry my gear out with me.

    On another note, the biggest disadvantage to using a climber during the early season isn't finding a good tree. It's how soaked with sweat you are when you get to 25 feet.

    Oh yeah... I knew I hadn't been feeling well. I've felt queasy since Saturday morning.

    Well, this morning the diarrhea hit. It's been manageable but it's making for some uncomfortable sits.
    You really have to focus on muscle control when using a climber in this situation. :lol:
