    Let's see what the night brings. Fresh scrapes...and low winds after 3 days of blustery conditions. I need to set another stand on Saturday to intercept them on the way to the beans....but this tree will have to do for today.

    Trimmed out some lanes at my new set from this morning.
    Set up on winter wheat field with my buck decoy. I need sunscreen. If this happens it’s going to happen really late. Wind is really light. I brought the cross gun for the extra ten yards.

    Checking in! With limited time, I’m on the ground. Figured it was best to just stay out of the timber.
    This is where I almost got stepped on by Big Sex last year.

    All set up in my first spot in northern Missouri.

    Never hunted here before so I don't know what to expect.

    It's a great looking spot, though, with great sign.

    One of the absolute biggest bucks I've ever seen from a tree stand was west of there on private ground in Leeton. Got dark before he got in range and I was shaking so bad I'd have probably missed all of him. Really wish I still had permission there! Good luck!!!

    My son in law texted me and said he had a shooter closing.

    And the first deer to come in the beans was a decent buck. 200 yards away. Looked around for 10 minutes, saw nothing, and headed back into woods. Decent 8...tempted to shoot if presented.
