Gonna be interesting. Didn't see a single live animal till I got 3 miles from my hunting spot. 5 on their feet, 1 dead off the road.

Saw a huge racked deer a couple miles away, looked like it was still in velvet.

Headed in shortly, I think I'll have service today. Good luck y'all.

Will be in my stand in 20 minutes. Cold and foggy here. Going to try to hunt until noon maybe I won’t have to if the deer cooperate.

I'm up and dressed. Just killing a few minutes.

I don't see any need to be in the tree more than an hour early where I'm going.

As I said, I'll be carrying my muzzleloader today and tomorrow but I'll still post here.

I'm not sure about this morning but I'll bet something is gonna die today.

Sh!t show! I got out here to find my blind turned 90° with a tree blocking the door. I made a ton of noise turning it back and getting situated. Not 3 mins later, a fat doe was nosing around at 10 yards trying to figure me out. 55 mins til shooting light...

    One button buck last night

Sat down at 615 this morning. SSE wind is perfect for this tree. Saw 3 separate bucks on the drive...2 young and one bruiser. I still have an hour before sunlight.

I pray for a safe, restful. And bloody morning. Cider press party this afternoon, so no hunting this evening. Helping a kid hang 2 stands after this hunt...would be great if he could get his first bow kill.

In and set. The 'swamp' in sitting in is bone dry. We've only had one rain since August. But there is a lake west of me 200 yds and a big feeder creek 200yds north. Both with very thick pine between me and the water. Deer will bed in the pine and I've sat./ ambushed them with my rifle (deer icon) last year.

However, wind from the east today. The swamp is also full of live oak and sweat gum trees.

Tropical storm remnants predicted to arrive at 3pm.

    Good luck! [IMG]

It's getting good watched where that doe came from she peed in a new scrape. Now there's a buck grunting in the thicket in front of me and another small doe to the left
