I used to sandwich my clothes between a couple bales of alfalfa long before scentlok was anything. I still bury my outer layers under a cedar tree skirt in a cotton linen bag, works well.

I've been hearing the strangest noise to the south for about two hours. I finally got the source in my binoculars.

It's a Pit Bull on the neighboring property where a house is being built.

No one is there yet so this dog is either having a field day with construction debris or its chain broke loose wherever it's from and it got snagged there.

I texted the owner and it's not his dog. He's on his way over and I'll meet him when he gets here.

PLEASE be careful. I thought I came up on a snagged yellow lab on our place one gun season. From a distance I saw it tugging and pulling . I circled up around behind it and called out. What I got was a dog in a frenzy turn on me foaming at the mouth with a bloody chest. He charged so fast I didnt have time to lift my shot gun. Hit thumb safety at knee level grabbing fore stock and shot. He turned away as I heard a yelp. Well there was as second dog I hadn't seen that got hit .long short..called cops we went out to see scene and he found owner picking fragments out of dogs butt. They told me I was dang lucky I had the gun he would have gone for my throat. Turned out the frenzy was a deer they had taken down.

I decided to turn around and scan the area behind me. Been sitting/standing looking ahead for about 95% of the time. While I am looking at the 5% portion at least 2 does skirt me about 50 yards to the west! Lol gotta love the irony. Didn’t have a shot but love to watch them????

As it turned out it was just a Pit Bull having a ton of fun with two long lengths of 5" black plastic corrugated drain pipe. It had chewed the ends off of both pieces that were lying there.

The dog was gone when the owner and I got there, but I did have my 10mm in my pocket just in case.
