Sorry Holt! Maybe he will come back around! I am finally up a tree on Missouri public! Saw 6 does from this tree last year on a major cold front! Hunting tonight just because I am here? Really set this up for this Wednesday! 20 degree temp drop according to local weather? Here goes nothing!

Shadows setting in down low. Im thinking if they do come in it will be from the far ridges a couple hundrwd hards away with good bedding for this wind. Hoping they cut this back corner of the swamp as it hits these hardwoods.

Yeah he still close. He just walked off. He's probably still within 80 yards. I could hear him walking thru the water as he was coming out. I started shaking before I even saw him! Lol

At least you didn't spook him. I think you'll get another chance. Still sucks though.

The bad part is my arrow is sticking in the ground right in front of were he leaves his bed. Now at some point I have to walk over there and get it. He will definitely smell my tracks tonight when he comes back. I may just have to leave this area for a week or so.

3 toms and doe fawn in bean field. Deer at 200 yards and no turkey tag. May have to get one.

    1.45 hours of light remain.

Just had a pair of does come in directly behind my tree. I couldn’t get a shot around the tree? Lead doe was coming around and I tried to reposition to other side of tree for shot, my ankle popped and spooked them? Never blew or ran, just walked the other way.It sucks getting old but I am in a tree! Wasn’t expecting anything tonight, I am sweating like a pig! Gotta love this sport!

Probably but I couldn't take it anymore, I needed to check it and make sure no blood. I just got it and nothing on it, so I'm happy I didn't injury him. Peace of mind.

So guys here is a interesting observation for tonight. I felt the second the thermals kick in tonight. It was like a light switch, cool air started rolling down off the ridge beside me. Within minutes that buck stood up and started moving when that happen. That's more then 2 hours before dark.

So the take away from this is keep your eyes peeled when you see a buck, the secret is in the details. Every buck will teach you something.

That sucks. Glad it was a clean miss... Might take him a day or three to come back around, but the 10 still should be around.
