Holt inspired swamp hunt this pm. 1.5 mile walk with this wind. Ive never hunted this 3500 acre place. I scouted it in the winter. 75 degrees and sunny..oh well.[IMG]

Best move. Im not doing morning and evening hunts right now. Slowing it down to once a day when I have a chance to hunt.

Back on stand for my 3rd sit of the season. I am hunting a 60 acre private piece I just got permission to hunt. It hasn’t been hunted for 3 years. I hear acorns falling. Hoping for some action! My first 2 sits I haven’t even seen a deer. If it’s brown, it’s down! Good luck to all who are out!

I here guys! On stand and setup by 3. Finally got a little service to post. As I was about 20 yards from my tree, had a spike walk right to me. He checked the tree I hunted last night first then walked to 5 feet! Stood in front of me for over 5 minutes. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and my leg was cramping so bad. I moved and he freaked out and blew. But all setup now. Wind is swirling a little, hope it doesn't screw me tonight.

Good luck everyone out tonight! Leaving my main property alone for a couple weeks. Just got permission for a place loaded with does. Scouting tomorrow and hunting later in the week. Does are going down!

If the deer comes out and up this point like she did saturday, I should be good. 15710830349995508970962378391288.jpg

2 hrs to set up. Haha. Wind is good. Have no idea what is in here. Put the tree between me and the swamp edge. Other side is where the hardwoods start. [IMG][IMG]

Hunt smart not hard.... Luv it.... My thoughts exactly. ..Plenty of time to hunt hard when the seeking stage kicks in! For me that's 10/25 till December

I just had a buck sneezing in the cattails not 40 yards away, I think I'm in the game! I keep hearing them sneezing the other night also. I'm 25 yards from edge of cattails, so second he walks out, he dead!

Hunting a farm where does need to die. If a doe comes within range I'm aiming small...miss small.

During deer season, I keep a "track pack" in my truck. It's a backpack with everything I may need to track a deer. LED flashlights , extra batteries, gloves for gutting, rope to drag, toilet paper for marking trail, orange marking tape, butt out tool, baby wipes for cleaning up, granola bars, waters, SHARP knives and zip ties for tagging deer. Plus anything else you might want. It's nice not to have to go find it all. Good luck tonight.

And I just missed him! Shot at him at 20 yards and clipped a limb! I'm so pissed right now! It was the big 8 pt!

He came out and had to let him walk about 10 yards to clear some limbs. He stops and I tryed to weave the shot. Hit a limb I didn't see just 5 feet in front of him. I'm shaking so bad right now. He walked off like he didn't know what just happen.
