Take your time and make smart choices. Mark the trail. You may smell her before you find her.

Great evening to be in a tree. Felt so good just to be out there. Only ended up seeing that nice one and some does. I’ll be back after it in the AM. Based on the card I pulled I’m thinking that he’s a fairly local buck... I want him hanging in the barn.

yes. i found its very important to keep up with pattern change throughout the year. i'm noticing some bucks are starting to venture to the doe bedding grounds now. that was my goal today. find the does and get set up before the bucks really show up. best to stay a step ahead of them for the surprise ambush.

Lost blood, found a tiny spec and have been circling, my brand new fancy spot light that was fully charged just died. Headlamp is still good. If it does I’m going to have a fun time getting out of here.
I’m going to keep looking though.

smcarthur, i think you'll have to make her bleed to death looks like a hit that will just drain the chest cavity. she will bleed out even if you didn't hit any organs. sounds like you jumped her and when she was running the blood got sparse. once she walks again it will pick up. remember at night you don't go as far as you think. keep updating us. she should be heading down hill. i have also found deer to double back on the same blood trail before breaking off in a new direction.

I seem to be jinxing myself. I have no idea how I did it,but, it seems that I missed at 50 yards with a rifle. After waiting 45 minutes, we found absolutely no blood. Everything about the deer’s reaction said hit deer. She ran hard with head down before getting out of sight. But, no blood. We even but my friends dog on the trail and nothing. Everything points to a clean miss. Fortunately, my son had a great attitude about it.

Truthfully, I think you're on a brisket hit. Had one a few years ago and lost blood as soon as the woods opened up. Could have went one of 3 directions sticking to trails and could never find blood on any of them.

I'm nearly certain deer have some sort of super coagulating saliva.

Hope ya prove me wrong though.

Followed straight line down hill until I hit a cliff, u less she jumped she had to turn. I’m going to last blood and going left, most of the turns she’s made have all been to the left
