Well morning youth hunt was exciting. Daughter ended up missing a big doe. Nice 6pt or 8pt was following her but presented no shot. While we were out hunting a different spot on the property had this guy at my stand this morning. Oh well had a good time lots of action. Image1570976902.163623.jpg

go for it- it's early and the rut will have them changing it up soon. If you blow them out no biggie. Be aggressive while they're predictable. In 2 weeks either one of them could be chasing tail the next county over anyway.

Yes it's going to be painfully slow entrance. I decided to take my leafy suit in to get to tree. But I have to be in a tree. Only way to get a shot. Going to go up a bigger tree and climb the back side as slow as I can. This is a all or nothing sit tonight. Something will definitely happen tonight!

No doubt. I'm never one to sit back. When the bucks are there I will push them around til I get him. I familiar with the big 8. He was a deer I was chasing last year. I know exactly were he beds in the late season also. I had 4 encounters with him last year, 3 were under 40 yards. He's very speratic, doesn't do the same thing every night. He blew up into a beast this year, easily put 75 lbs of body mass on.

not that you need a ton of help killing deer, but have you considered the EZ V sight? Seems perfect for your style.

Sat out this morning. I need a new plan after yesterday. I hunt a 40 acre plot that is thick as hair on a dogs back with very few trees in the center, mostly cedars. Edges are overgrown too but some I can get to fairly easy. I have a stud in there and I dont really want to bump him at all. Soooo I need to look at the wind and see if I can get on an edge where he's known to come thru. I haven't seen this deer since july but I know he's there. He just stays in the center in the thick stuff till rut or pre rut. Good luck folks.

Ima have a hard time not checking my phone every ten minutes following Holts hunt later! Get em!

I ended up seeing 5 does and 3 fawns. My blind is 16 yards from their field entrance, but I didn't anticipate them trotting out to 40 yards before stopping to look around. Even with my bow drawn, they were in and out of my windows before I could shoot.

Hope you get him Holt, I’ll be doing something similar tonight. I know a big one is where I’m pushing in on, I spotted him last year when I hunted across the water way on a steep hill top. It’s also perfect bedding for one
