I've always taken the time after a kill to pause and take in the moment and thank the animal for its sacrifice. Cant figure out why I forgot to do that today. It may seem silly but it is irritating me and I cant shake it. I've always had such a reverence and fascination with game, especially deer, and all I can think of was I was planning the drag out or whatever. Weird is all. What a day.

Congrats again bud! I do the same when I get a kill. They don't come easy for me so every sighting, or kill is special to me. Going to be some good eating for sure!

Hate to brag, but this s$&@ is amazing, I got a little carried away with the heat, but damn, this is good.
Going to have to make some for the rut/super cold days, going to be a great stand food. I need to restock the deer meat though, this is just about the last of my chunky stuff.

We are calling it off. I can't believe we never found any blood trail at all.

I am sick thinking about a deer running around alive with my arrow sticking out of it.

Sorry chief. That's rough and never fun, but we all know it happens even to the best of us.

Holt is still in his tree which ironically enough has a chocolate racked 10 point and a big 8 taking turns rubbing the base of his tree.

    He still remains undetected

I know the feeling too well. As you reminded me a couple of weeks ago, it happens despite our best efforts. You’ll get the next one .

There's another scenario possible with Holt.

He last posted at 5pm CST, Okiebob disliked his post and he logged back on 3 hours late and may have been offended and left.

Damnit @Okiebob why the dislike bro?

So I sat until 10am this morning and then went back to the truck, ate lunch and watched OU belittle Texas, the softest team in college football, Betos favorites. Took a nap and was back on the stand around 1530. Then I got the text message from a neighbor. The big double mainbeam took an arrow on monday. Anyway, nice evening to sit on the stand, plenty of deer. Made had a doe and her fawn bed in front of me at last light so I waited about twenty minutes and then made my down and managed to slip out without spooking them. That's a full moon tonight!

Heading back to my parents to hunt the buck I jumped out of his bed Friday night. Same wind as Friday. The only way I can see his bed and stay down wind is from the ground. Not passing a doe this morning either
