I haven't seen anything else. I've sat that tree for two morning sits and both times I've watched deer go west to east in thick cover of the north edge.

I got down about an hour ago and moved my stand to a huge white oak in the middle of the thick cover. The wind should be in my favor this evening and tomorrow morning.

It's 11:00 now. I'm going to sit until 1:00, get down, go in and change and grab a bite and I'll get right back out here.

That sucks, still a nice buck sucks no meat out of it. That's exactly why I hate hunting evenings. So much can go wrong even when it goes right.

He going to look into a salvage tag?

Coolest evening hunt since the season started for my part of Tennessee. Can’t wait to get off work and go after the deer y’all have named Big Sex for me this evening.

Congrats RR! heck of a shot!

My morning was cut short. I got down around 8:45 after I got a text from my BIL that said he shot a good one. 350-400 yards later with no beds the blood dried up. I think he his him square in the shoulder at about 30-32 yards. Not a huge recipe for success, but that’s hunting. He’s probably about 4 beers deep right now.

Before I got down I had a slow hour of first light. I saw one small doe twice and nothing else. I checked a camera and to say I’m excited for all around colder weather and the end of October is an understatement

Clothes are smoked, car is packed, laundry is completed, LOL! Just need to feed the dogs and I'll be on the road! Still trying to decide if I should hunt where I've been seeing deer, or go to a different patch of the woods for the element of surprise.

Saw no deer this morning. Got down around 10:30 and did some scout and stalk. There wasn’t a ton of tracks but it did rain all day yesterday. Found some fresh buck tracks and rub. Probably made last night.

I’m on toddler duty the rest of the day, got the stew going and about time for a nap with the little one. Not gonna be a terrible day! Stew will be ready after nap time, low simmer and let it cook.
