I'm still using it and it has come in handy a few times but I need to remember not only to turn it on (I've forgotten that) but I REALLY need to learn to keep the bow up and record after the shot.

All these years of dropping the bow after the shot and I keep doing it.

Little bit of an update/new news.

Mentioned the climber I seen at the base of a tree.

Just received a text from another hunter asking whether or not I had a climbing stand out there.

Not sure if it is the same climber and tree or same climber different tree or different altogether.

I'll be pissed off to no end if MF'ers are disrespecting my uncle after his death like that. I'm hoping it is a legit stand, I just cannot fathom any if the neighbors I know of doing so. It would take a lot of legwork to get a stand back there unnoticed without being a neighbor. Would be in the NW corner of the property, both property lines are distinguished by a power line right of way easement, so not an innocent crossover.

Won't be making it out in the morning, so next hunt will be first weekend in November then rutcation starts Nov. 7th.

Hunt it! But be in early and set up long before day light. 90 minutes at least.

I bought another one this year. Thought about a headmount for that very reason, following after the shot, but turning it on without a remote(new ones have remotes, but mine is a solo 3.0) would be burdensome in quick situations.

Didn't end up seeing much after about 6pm. Pretty good night overall tho, ended up seeing about a dozen deer. No bucks tho besides the little fork. Checked cam while I was out there and have been having a decent 8 and a nice 10 hit the bean field I was in but it's all night time movement.

Ended up being the same climber and tree.

Still unsure of who's stand it is.

I'm really debating on whether to get one or not. I have a Gopro which is great for some things, but not for hunting. It'a wide angle lens and the deer looks like it's 80 yards out when it's 20. How many of your 36 kills in the past year have you recorded?

My buddy who lets me hunt with him on his WI property shot a nice buck tonight at last light here in IL. He lives about an hour and a half north of me so I'm going to head up and help him with the track tomorrow AM. Hate to miss the AM hunt but a friend in need... Hopefully I can share pics and story with a good ending tomorrow.

Good luck out there this morning guys, I’m taking my XOP and climbing sticks, going to set up on the ridge at the back of the property, there is a really well worn trail that I shot the buck on last week, going to set up right on that and see what happens! Good luck to those who are out shoot straight!
