I was thinking about not hunting this afternoon because the rain isn't supposed to stop until around 6:00 or 7:00.

But,... I'll be alone this afternoon with no back-up, I'm colorblind and can't follow a blood trail anyway so is there any real reason I shouldn't put on some rain gear and be there in the drizzle at the end of the day?

Well I had encounter with a good buck this morning at 0950-0955 ish.

    At a mere 12 yards.
I arrived late today. Sitting there haven't seen anything except for leaves falling.

I was Texting back and forth with some friends. I was about to tell them I was going to get down at 1000. When I heard a little noise, I figured it was a chipmunk again, but I look up and it's whooper of buck for my part of the pa (Amish country). And he is 12 yards away. So I try real slow to slide up the tree to stand. I get up and he has stopped and is looking at me. I try not look or move. But I'm thinking I need to get my bow. He looks a head of him as if I need to get out of here quick which way do I need to run. As he looked forward I grabbed my bow. He jumps two bounds and stops and looks back at me. He is 35 ish yards. I get my release attached to the string and start to put tention on the string and walks out to 80 yards and stops and looks back at . Tmy direction. I tried calling to him but I knew he wouldn't come back. It's been a great year for seeing deer for me

I knew I was going to be caught with my phone this year. I wanted to throw the damn thing away but I was shaking to bad to do it.

Trying to find a pic of him from last year, and he is probably
    220 lbs and maybe 125 ish 5 or 6 pt. ( Tank)

I think I’m going rogue today. Overcast, drizzly, 20 mph winds, wet forest floor. I think today would be a perfect day to still hunt on the ground with the leaf suit or the Gilly suit.

Hey Little Chief, you look to be in an area I have to pass to get to the lake area I hunt. How far from Wickliffe KY are you if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks

I just realized I lost cell service at daylight and didn't come back while in the stand. No action for me at all. Back at it later

31 in the AM with a high of 60 midday. I can’t hunt this weekend and it’s killing me.
Some animals should be dropped tomorrow, good luck guys!

Gotcha! Lots of deer in that area. My family has a place towards the very back of Jonathan Creek /Ky Lake. The land around the lake just west of our trailer is WMA land. Walk to my stand about 5 to 10 minutes? Good luck! I will be watching intently knowing you are kind of in my part of the country. Thanks
