We are heading into a full moon, in my experience the mornings are a waste of time the last four days or so before and until about two days after the full moon; too much light at night from the moon. Early afternoons in bedding areas can be awesome during this time. I have seen and killed more deer and elk between 11 am - 3pm during this time period than early mornings.

It's strange that I've always had pretty good luck on full moon mornings.

I dunno. I just like being out here and there is always a chance, especially around 10:00 this morning when the moon is underfoot.

I think the time of day when moon is overhead/underfoot can influence the early morning movement. However, if it does not coincide with the early morning hours, it tends to be little to no movement in my experience. I think you should sit until 1 pm if the moon is underfoot at 10 am.

Alright guys, I'm off work and will be heading out soon! Haven't hunted in almost 2 1/2 weeks, this is going to be much needed after the last 2 weeks I just had!

Good luck to all on the stand this evening!

I know you're right about the overhead/underfoot times and you are probably right about sitting until 1:00 today but I had to get down at 10:30. I have to get my gear washed and re-treated with permetrin and then get everything loaded to leave for Kentucky in the morning.

Oh, when I went and pulled my stand from across the road I did a quick camera check and I had pics of a doe standing 25 yards in front of an empty stand at 6:53 this morning. When I was out of commission for the colonoscopy prep both stands had pics of does in front of empty stands.

That keeps happening and I just can't seem to pick the right stand. It's probably for the best. It's about time to focus on Kentucky for a while and leave the does here on my place alone in preparation for the rut.

I’ll be in the stand tonight as well. Putting corn in the feeder. Wind isn’t perfect but figured since I’ll be out there might as well stand for a hunt

Finally on stand. Hunting a different marsh tonight. Found 2 fresh scrapes and a big rub, so I set up right on top of it. Got bedding on both sides of me. Should see some deer tonight, this is a great spot! Very little service, so I will try and report in when I can. Good luck guys!

Back at it with my boy. Remote apples in the woods. Not very high, but he's not comfortable getting too high yet.
