Got a crazy hawk flying through all the trees making a bunch of racket chasing after squirrels.

Steady rain all day today. Back in the same blind as this morning. Have not seen any deer yet. My Dad is 150 yards away.

We did have a grouse come in this morning. Gave us a practice run. We had to spin around and open a window. He hit a limb though. Good fun, and kept him interested. 15704825673918076886350015751879.jpg

Clover, corn, bedding and water all within a 200 yard radius. We haven't seen much for buck sign so far, but the does have been in here. I hope one comes within range tonight. I had 4 close enough a few nights ago but they never presented a clear shot.

Out in the edge of a large field that continues to be active. Some sorghum, peas, and buckwheat along with 2 week old winter rye. As much a recon scout as anything. Easy in, easy out setup. I'd be fine w/ a doe if she gets close. I'm just happy to be out in a tree. Good luck guys. 1570483721759.jpeg

Very still evening so far, not much but a red squirrel on its feet. I sure do enjoy the mild temps and light gear to sit in, very relaxing night. It's getting to be go time.

I need redemption for this past weekends snafu.

Went ahead and took Saturday off, overnight low in the mid 30's, should get frost in the bottoms, and high only in the low to mid 50's.

Should get the leaves falling regardless.

Dad saw a couple. Winded us. Not surprised. Mom served us boiled dinner for lunch
