7 more work days until I go out on leave. I have a ton of work to get done and I'm sure a bunch of more crises will pop up but this is all I will hear. It is hunting season you cannot defeat me[IMG]

Changed stands, sitting on an edge between old oaks and the food plot. Just glad to be up in a tree. Little windy but hopefully it lays down around sunset. Really digging my setup this year. 20191006_170614.jpg

Got 2 small bucks walking field edge 100 yards to east. Not heading my way. Just happy to see deer from the tree!

Good luck to everyone out tonight! After not having any deer pics in three weeks on my farm. I went into desperation mode and went to scout public today. Come home and the wife has me two pieces of private I now have permission to hunt. I’ll be Live From the Stand this week!

Nothing in VT this weekend. Not sure where the deer are in my neck of the woods.

Bucks are dropping like flys in NJ and some scrape and sparring is taking place. Cant wait to get back on October 17.

Well tomorrow morning is my first sit of the year.

After a beautiful weekend with the wife for our anniversary, it is now archery season. ( Finger Lakes in NY. ).

Tomorrow is supposed to be rain all morning. I will be wet by God and I'm going to be in a Tree I don't care.

Kill Kill. First Doe unless a yearling. I have 2 Doe tags and a buck tag. Anything over 110 or close to it. There is a goofy looking buck also around and I may pull trigger on him.

Went out in the rain this evening. Couldn’t help it, love hunting in the rain, wind was perfect and I got pretty far in there quiet. Had a doe come by at 12 yards and some turkeys went by to roost. Spot was more observation than anything. Still some scouting ahead to figure out where the big boy is located. Overall great hunt

Ok, so for those of you who go way back from parking.

Are you walking wood edges or trails to get there?

I just can't get past my uncle telling me severl years ago about killing the big bucks back in the area of the property thatno stands exist.

He said you have to get in really early because once the leaves fall they get knee deep and loud.

Might try one more early season hunt just to scope it out. If the creek has water may be able to walk a creek way back in.

Wish I was 19 again, I'd set up some tree ropes and American Gladiator it in

I'm just now getting back to the house. Had a quite a few does and younger bucks pass through and one bruiser after last light. Took the long way back to the truck so as not to spook anything. Almost got the best cover scent of all applied after coming face to face with a skunk. I was kinda pissed he didnt spray me, would have been the perfect excuse to call in tomorrow.

In a blind with my 12 year old son. Going to make a hard push to get him onto some deer this week. Took the week off. Staying with my folks and my grandfather. There will be days this week that all four generations will be hunting together.

Morning one, forgot the seat for the blind. He has one, but I'm on the ground.

Told him to practice draw and his release was still strapped to his bow limb.
