Well it didn’t turn out well guys, found a bed he clotted and I wasn’t able to find anything afterwords, tried calling the only two trackers within an hour and a half and didn’t reach either of them, my buddy has a hound that he could bring up at 10 but unfortunately I have to go take care of my in laws demon dogs, no I can’t get anyone else to because the dogs are insane and wont go outside for people they don’t know... they were calling for rain starting at 5am but they bumped it back to 8 now, going to see if I hear from the trackers or if my buddy can do early tomorrow morning

I hope he turns up for you. At least you know you have good neighbors that are willing to help

Not a booner, but a long horn spike. Shot was s little low by leg and heart region. We will see how it goes.

Hi Brett.. I'm going to simultaneously ruin your hunt and also provide hours of hilarity. I am bozo the bear. I run circles through swamps and disrupt all wildlife. Those white oaks that were dropping and all that dear crap next to it, doesn't mean squat. You know that big fresh scrape that you were looking at, that doesn't mean crap either. Have a good one moron.[IMG]

So i screwed eveything up but hey what are opening day sits for? I planned on checking a cam by a field then hunting up on a ridge, well the cam had awesome pics so i decided to hunt that area but the wind wasn't great and i had left my harness home so i had to sit on the ground. I heard a bunch of engines running up near the field and figured since they're probably working close and the wind is marginal i should go to my initial spot on the ridge. So by the time i get up on the ridge it's already way late and there was no where to sit on the ground really so i basically sat on my knees on the side of an old logging road. Probably blew out both spots... hopefully will get some rain tn and help me out

No deer tonight. Completely perplexed. However, I do have my #1 Iowa hitlister in sight. Only a 4-year year old but what a beauty

Man, that’s a bummer. Sorry to hear you didn’t find him tonight. He’s gotta be pretty close.
Any chance you could just tie your in-laws dogs “for a walk” tomorrow? Or just tie em to a tree for a few hours ;)

Okay, so it was another "no deer sighted" sit.

That's okay. I wasn't feeling that great and had already decided to only shoot a buck.

That was my last sit for a few days. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow and then Monday I start taking turbo laxatives and starving myself to prep for a colonoscopy on Tuesday.

Definitely don't wanna try to hunt Monday.

    Getting old really sucks.

Back at the truck and headed home. Couple does, fawns and a six point buck that was grunting the entire time he walked by me, immature grunts at that.
