Terrible cell service here. Im on the edge of a swamp with some slow rolling white oaks.

As I was walking in I saw a "pig" come out of the swamp. Duck down and move in upwind at 30 yards. Ready to draw.....yeah! Good bye!!!! A black bear. 1st for me to see one when hunting...even when I yelled at him he didnt care.

Finally in a tree. Oversleeping was a blessing yesterday, would have been a nightmare getting in stand and realizing no broadheads.

Got out here at 1:30 and another hunter already in stand somewhere. Come back to the far corner to an oak stand. No acorns dropping, but see a climber at the base of a tree 20yds away. Thick and nasty back here, not many lanes at all.

Thunder rumbling, hopefully will get them moving.

    Day from hell so far

I'm in. There was a big deer bedded under my stand. Jumped up at 15-20 yards. Didn't see rack but sure it's a buck. 20191005_155323.jpg

He just came crashing through the swamp and pushing turkeys toward me. I could have easily killed him. Dang bear!

Back in the same tree I was in this morning. The wind shifted away from the bedding area and there are numerous rubs right here. Add to that the pics I have on my cameras of this buck, I thought it worth a shot
