I’ve been bundled up all morning in my arctic shield body suit. One layer of thermals, my hunting pants and shirt. Not cold, but not sweating. No deer yet! Ok back in my cocoon I go! Good luck everyone!!

Me neither. I'm staying till 10-11. I'm hoping when the sun hits them in their beds they will get up and feed, once the frost is off the green stuff

Had a fawn come in feeding but I think momma is bedded upwind of me @40. Little one read the script but she was tiny. Low 40's as well. Chilly PA opener.

I always eat those things in the stand and on workout days. They don't have that effect on me. But I don't drink coffee either. Now the Quest bars are another story. I gave them up cause I couldn't stand myself after eating those.

Considering their place in the food chain you would think squirrels would have a little more concern with being quiet and stealthy. If I were a squirrel I would think it would be in my best interest to avoid things like challenging my buddy to see who can run up a pine tree the fastest.

Just had another group of 8 come in behind me, looked like all does. Worst part is, if my stand was where it was last year I could have had a shot at every deer I've seen this morning. Isn't that the way it always goes.

Squirrels aren't the smartest animals. Just look at all the dead ones on the road. Plus, they dont live very long - most don't make it past adolescence. Now look at the behavior of adolescent males....they ain't too bright either. I'm surprised so many make it to "maturity "!

Had a lone doe milling around me for past 45 mins. Could've shot her 3-4x but every time she was clear she was facing the private land which is only 25yds away. More trouble than it's worth.

Now a fawn is blatting all over the place. Can't see it but Holy cow it wants it's mama.

    #me too

Just had a whole herd hanging out under my stand - 2 nice plump does, 2 yearlings, 4 fawns, and a little spike acting like he thinks he’s a stud with his harem of 8 ladies. I was in plain sight of all 9 and no way in hell I could’ve stood up and/or drawn back without at least one of them catching me so they all get to keep on keeping on. I guess sometimes there really is too much of a good thing.

Giving it another couple hours before I head in.
Keep forgetting it's pre-time change so 9a hunts more like 8a

One thing tho- its been raining so much ground is so soft that even tho it was dead calm that doe was w/20 yards before I saw her, never heard her step. I heard her crunching on acorns but not a step

You got this. At least you don't have to leave sit overnight and can start your recovery this afternoon. Hope you find him!

If it’s any consolation that buck is probably a little sick to his stomach too. Haha. Looks like you got a decent bit of blood on there with the guts though, you might’ve gotten lucky and hit an artery or some big blood vessels and at least you won’t be searching in 95 degree weather.
