If i wasn't watching it go down with my own eyes I'd swear this squirrel wrestling match was 2 bucks fighting to the death. Been covered in turkey and tree rats all AM but no deer yet.

Sun just touching tops of the trees gonna listen with my eyes closed for a bit

Hand warmers, toe warmers and body warmers on this AM. Two hats, 4 layers up top and 3 down low. I'm getting old. I like being warm!

Good luck if you are out! I am spending the day chaperoning my son’s chess tournament. Shoot straight and spill some
    blood. I need entertainment.

Absolute show getting in this morning. Rain, trail overgrown, everything is wet; first tee was dead, he too big, third tree fell from my second stick (thought I had it tight, se stepped up, had to take the lineman belt off to move around and obstacle, stick slid, Thud). I'm drenched. Finally get in the tree and can't screw my hook into this damn oak.

Alas, the Heron, eagles, hawks, frogs and skeeters singing this morning...

Oh, and my daughter informed me last night I'm gonna be a grandpa...

Considering where their place in the food chain you would think squirrels would have a little more concern with being quiet and stealthy. If I were a squirrel I’d think it would be in my best interest to avoid things like challenging my buddy to see who can run up a pine tree the fastest.

Well that was exciting. About 4 or 6 came running in behind me like something had spooked them. In that bunch was one of my target bucks. He kinda peeled off from the rest of them and stopped at about 60 yards. That's a little out of my comfort zone. Then he just meandered off into the swamp. Exciting though!

Just finished reading all the 2200+ posts. Great buck MI! - first buck of the season on LFTS?
Glad I live on west side of the eastern time zone. I woke up at 515, sitting by 605, an hour and 10 minutes before shooting light.

42 degrees this morning with a shifting east wind. I've seen 9 does walk down the same tree line. If the wind cooperates, I'll be sitting there next weekend and won't hesitate to shoot multiple deer. 1 little buck.
Goals of mine this season are to appreciate the hunting opportunities I have, get at least 1 kid hunting more, not worry about the biggest buck (I put 0 cameras out), and use safety harness.
    Make it a great day!

I recently read a post by someone on the forums about hunting the "red moon", which is when the moon is overhead or underfoot at prime time.

After two hunting two red moon phases (yesterday and today qualify) I don't think it works early season 'cause I'm not seeing anything.

It's a beautiful morning to be sitting here watching trees, leaves and rocks. :tu:

Well we made it till 8:30 and then daughter was like I’m ready when you are dad.
Inside eat some breakfast then off to Home Depot to do the kids workshop and then watch some football
Depending on the games and if I get into the alcohol will determine if I’m back out this evening
