    Congrats to everyone that shot one yesterday! I got off at 0230 took a cat nap and now I’m in a tree for VA opener ! Crisp and cool 47 degrees. Looking for a buck or bear in the backyard ... not confident either will show but I’m gonna stay up til 930 -10ish then take another nap.

    It’s go time y’all - been waiting all season to hunt this spot - gotta have wind out of north-east and we rarely have that. Wind is perfect thanks to the cold front that came through last night and it’s a beautiful 55 degrees or so. Got the perfect spot and I succeeded in doing 4 things which I rarely accomplish successfully:

    1. I actually followed through with my pre -bedtime goal to get in extra early since I’m near night time bedding area so I was in the stand by 5 am.

    2. I was able to walk in and climb up without turning on my light

    3. I managed to get to the stand without stepping on a single twig or crunchy leaf

    4. I climbed up into the stand and got settled in without makeing a single clank or rattle.

    Gonna be a good day!

    Wind is a little squirrely but it's an awesome morning. 30, bright blue skys, food plot looks awesome. Longest shot here is 30yds. Deer, bear and turkeys on the menu and of course any coyote that might walk by.

    Well I'm here but im not settled in yet. I can't find my stand and I'm not going to tromp around in the dark looking. I know I'm within 30 yards or so, so I sat down on a log and I'm waiting on enough daylight to see for sure. Geesh, old people, what you gonna do?!?!??

    48°, I almost didn't sweat walking in. Sitting between an oak flat and hay field. Shots will be close and personal...5-12 yards.

    Well n ow I'm in. I walked right past it and sat down 15 yards away. Soon as the sky started to pink up a little I could see it silhouetted right in front of me. Duh!
