It felt like a mid-November morning. Tomorrow should be nice too.
I just had lunch and a nap, I’m gonna hit a different stand for the PM.
Still steaming about that bruiser I saw though. An opening weekend buck would have been sweet!

Back out. Oak flats to my left and right. Beans about 80 yards in front of me. Just had something small run through about 50 yards up. I knew I should’ve sat up there. Not enough sig for pics. Does are fair game for me tonight and the trigger finger is pretty itchy

My son just moved in this week to his new home that has 18 acres

So I thought since I got out here early this afternoon I would get down from the stand and check out the rest of the line I’m on... 2 doe looking at me 50 yards away as soon as I stepped into the lane lol

Gonna hang a stand there this season...

This is the last time I can hunt this spot this year so I'm all in. On the ground as close to the bedding as I can get. Will be a very close shot if this works. Signal stinks. Cant upload pic.

Set up and ready to go for the evening. First sit of year. Took little longer to set up then usual. Idk if its just me or anyone else but I'm alwasy pretty hesitant the first time in stand for the year. I've checked them couple times but just kinda different once get in them. All good now tho, surely the 6 straps holding me to tree won't all break ha. And only thing forgot is can of chew, so not really a deal breaker.

Anyway sitting in little draw with beans and clover on the end rows to my left. Had little doe out in them on way in but she just took off without making much noise.

And threw in the one and probably only mandatory selfie. How else will ppl know I'm hunting right?

Good luck anyone else that's out[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Couple of two year olds just sparring beneath me at 10 yds. Bucks start tomorrow in NoVa. Too young/too early but good to see the show.
