    So waiting is definitely the thing to do.... it’s looking like a nice cold night there... I’d be after it at first light and if 1/2 an arrow is still in him, you will find him.

    For learning purposes.... never try and thread an arrow through some branches... always make sure you have a clear shot. You see pics where people are saying, “Awesome shot” and it was a little off as to where the shooter meant it to be... the kill zone is a pretty big area

    When you aren’t sure of the hit, back out of the woods and let the deer completely alone for a minimum of 6 hours as they will typically bed up within 100 yards and die (if they are going to die)

    that blood looks like a meat hit. likely shoulder. I've seen that blood pattern way too many times. blood seems a little watery. looks very familiar and brings back bad memories. lay the remaining part of your arrow next to a full arrow take a pic and show us the difference. you may get lucky? I'm rooting for you!

    It was 1 degree above freezing when I shot so I’m hoping that it’s just melting snow

    Still 15min till daylight and we have half inch of fresh snow so it’s gonna be a fight to follow the trail...:/
