Good plan Clint. Make a little double-bubble while you're at it.

Who'd have ever thought one would be allergic to triple antibiotic ointment? I was slowly poisoning myself over 9 days "treating it" unbeknownst to myself

Went for hopefully the last Dr appt today and got a new course of atnibiotics and prednisone to finish this crap off.

Went out tonight and saw the buck I’ve been after all season. Second time I’ve had him within 200 yds in the past week but he just hasn’t read the script yet. The mature bucks are on their feet and have been showing themselves during daylight...at least on the trail cams. Unfortunately, won’t be able to get back out until Saturday. Keep after it guys! Still a lot of good hunting left!

    Started out here last Tuesday

Whole ordeal got my cat quarantined. Cost $240 for just that.

Meanwhile I'm treating what was thought to be a cat scratch with normal topical ointment and a bandage plus a 5 day course of antibiotics.

Turned into this a week later

Either allergic to triple antibiotic ointment, my guess.

This image was a google search on allergies to triple antibiotics and matched my symptoms to a tee.

Or the adhesive of bandages, which I doubt.

Woah... Well I can relate I guess. I found out (the hard way with one little sting) one of around 250 species of fire ant will put me in a hospital every time. Not a cool situation man. Anaphalactic shock sucks and treatment is around 400 dollars with crappy insurance. Hope you start to heal up buddy, cuz you need a break from bs. And what do you do when you cant use neosporin and such?

Well I’m set up. Wind is crazy here and I can only sit until about 8:15... probably should have just slept in and went to work on time...

What about water? Cold as it has been this week a lot of water sources could be froze solid or at least deep. Got any running water that you could intercept them coming/going?

Funny there is a jackass about 3/4 mile away I hear when I hunt, it is usually right before primetime.

Not really. Has a pond and the 2 creeks that run through have little water in them. The creeks would likely feeze before the pond, but the shallow side of the pond where one could hunt would likely freeze at the same time.

Mainly bedding and traveling to and from. Rarely see anything over a small 1 1/2 year old 4 or 6 point outside of the rut. But when rut is on anything can happem and there are big bucks throughout the area for certain.

When I was around 4 I got stung by a honey bee while trying to catch butterflies. Swelled up big time, throat started closing up and all that jazz. Was told I was deathly allergic to be stings. Mosquito bites get quarter to half dollar sized.

Back in '09 I was shooting my bow, stomped a wolf spider on a straw bale and about 9 seconds later felt like I was getting electrocuted. Had a ground hornets nest under it and they lit me up. All in all was stung about 13 times in the abdomen and chest.

Went to the ER and didn't have any major symptoms, they put me on an IV with benadryl and monitored things for an hour or two.

So right now I don't know if it's only honey bees or what strain I'm allergic to. Grew up most of my entire life running from all bees

copy, sorry doesn't help you but I think water is something a lot of hunters overlook especially in the Midwest; we take it for granted that there's always water somewhere nearby. I hunt a waterless parcel in WI sand country and we put a couple pools out and the deer literally pounded them into the ground; and then last season in MI while tracking my uncle's buck I found a little natural seep in some nasty thick tag alders that was absolutely getting smashed by deer. I just can't get a blind or stand anywhere near it.

My dad is highly allergic to bees and carried around two benadryl in his pocket most of his life.
I will drop anything I'm doing to kill yellowjackets. Scorched earth policy on those little a holes.
