    been there. Let 2 traveling together walk at less than 50 yards on opening day of rifle a few years back. One was 120+ the other probably 100. I had the bigger one clear in my crosshairs broadside standing still for several seconds. I would've normally taken either but was really trying to find a bigger buck that I had shot with the bow the day prior (never found.)

    They trot off across the CRP towards the neighboring parcel and out of sight; maybe 2-3 minutes later- pow, pow, pow, pow.

    I head back to camp a few hours later and see 2 guys loading both those bucks onto the back of a truck. Such is hunting.

    Good luck everyone, you got me feeling the itch again. Gonna find some way to be in the woods in some state Dec 1.

    It is from about a week and half ago. I posted this because I was in one of my stands earlier that morning and moved because the wind was wrong and he walked by and hour and a half later.

    After all that action this morning I was really looking forward to getting back out there after eating some lunch. Alas, the ex flakes out and now I'm taking my middle kid to watch her bf in the state playoffs 30 minutes away. Oh well. Dad time. Her boyfriend is a softmore starting o lineman. 6 foot 5 300 pounds at 16 and getting scouted. Good kid too. Anyway good luck 2nd shift.

    I’m down here in southern Illinois and it has been DEAD action. I’m kinda mind blown. Have seen a few small bucks and some does. Actually I did not see any good rut activity this year. Got this evening and maybe tomorrow morning. Hopefully I can get something good down

    Saw 7 does and fawns cross the field after I got set up in the blind with my son. They just picked this corn field last Sunday.
