Who all is up for the morning? I'm going to be on stand and if the 10 doesn't stroll by, I'm pulling it and moving it closer to where he beds. It's all out at this point as far as chasing him goes. I usually respect the sanctuary area, but then again it's like 30 acres of thick bedding type areas.

The left-over snow we got will be too crunchy for an early entry. I'm waiting until about 10:00AM to go in and hunt til dark. Hoping to see some tracks in what snow remains.

this is the big 12 my buddy and I were hunting the last few days of the season. plus I found out that the giant buck I was hunting is still alive for now. he's making more mistakes. I just hope he makes it through gun season.

I'm going to be sitting with my son this weekend at my lease. He is definitely old enough 17 to sit on his own and he has before but he leaves for college next year and who knows when I will get to do this again. Between school and work he only has this weekend available so looks like I will be a slob on looker unless we see 2 nice bucks then I'm going in full slob mode

for those of you don't hunt MI-
you get a 4+ on one side restricted and an unrestricted tag (or doe only bonus tags - except this season in the CWD zones they eliminated the APR on the restricted tag.)

So shooting a spike uses the same tag as a doe. Dude had all day to shoot a doe and chose to shoot a spike instead.

I hunt all over the Great Lakes area. MI has got to have THE worst ingrained traditional prejudice against shooting does. I grew up there, and my entire MI hunting party of my dad and uncle and cousin are all from there. They would all rather eat tag soup than shoot a doe. Drives me absolutely crazy.
