    I killed a big six on this property a few years ago, and wasn’t really looking for another one, but no way I could have passed this beast.
    He came from the ONE direction where I didn’t stand a chance, which saved his life

    Today was the nicest day, weather wise, that I've had all season. It was a chilly 48F, cloudy, and a light SSE breeze. It was literally perfect conditions. All I saw in 8hrs today was a spike and an even lesser buck right at noon. I thought the evening would be killer (pun), but it was uneventful. Again, had one blow while I was leaving though. I did get some neat video of the two little guys, so I'm happy. I find the older I get, the more easily I'm pacified. :biggrin:

    Little smaller than I thought. His body is huge which fooled me on age. Still a solid 3.5yr old.

    What a crap show for me. Looks like I hit liver. Wanted to back out but rain was supposed to hit at 7 tonight and rain all day tomorrow. So against better judgment I started tracking. Typically liver hit, awesome blood for 50 yards then nothing! I followed tracks for 20 yard and picked up another puddle of blood, then nothing again. I just started doing circles around every thicket I could find in the dark. No deer. She is dead somewhere, but I couldn't find her before it started raining. Weird thing is she ran straight up hill instead of heading down to the marsh. It sucks losing a deer!
