    Well I just got out a few minutes ago. 4 does and the six point from earlier decided to pow wow under me for 30 minutes. Pretty sure the 10 showed up after shooting light. Just big body and rack is all I could tell. Tomorrow's another day.

    I was surrounded with little deer. One adult doe finally came out.
    Had to have my wife run the deer off so I could get down.

    Btw I joined in Jim's misery today. Decided to focus on my main stand in a north wind this evening and not hunt this morning. Grabbed my card on the way and the 10 I'm after was under the upper stand 720 this morning. Cant win em all. Almost didn't tell you all, but I figured most of you heard this grown man cry a little around 2 PM. All I could do was shake my head and go hunt.

    Back to the grind of work tomorrow. Next weekend is firearm season which I was unable to get a tag for, so next possible sit will be Thanksgiving day and/or that weekend.

    Only way I can sit Thanksgiving morning is if it will be cool enough to hang one for nearly 24 hours.

    Other than that December and January hunting it will be. I have until January 20th minus 7 days of shotgun seasons over 2 weekends.

    Latest I have ever seen a mature buck is Dec. 20th and that was the one and only time in 11 years seeing one after first shotgun season. Was likely 2nd rut related. Hoping the amount of does I have seen in relation to bucks will leave some unbred. With no real food sources on the property buck chances are pretty low from here on out.

    I still gotta go down and get my firearm permit.. hope I feel well enough to spend a little time in a tree dirty harry style. I have seen mature bucks around the end of season, mid jan, on does several times.

    I see quite a few deer but honestly think I’ve only seen a handful of bucks while on stand this year and nothing even remotely big.

    For those of you who run cameras all year... do you ever get the urge to just say screw it and abandon them? I get beautiful pictures every year of awesome deer and then season comes and never see them.

    I’m so tempted to just not run cameras next year and go in blind.

    Had a dang good night in the stand, I needed that after the last few shots. Last 2 sits haven't seen a deer, on a property where I have literally seen 30 deer in front of my stands. Last sit was so cold I was really questioning how much I like bow hunting.

    Tonight though my wife told me to go out for a quick sit when she got back. Had 3 does wondering around out in front of me all evening, then right at dusk 2 nice does worked perfectly across my stand at 30 yds. Everytime I have seen them work like this a buck is always behind them, and one came out... though he was a little fork horn. :) fun watching him chase that doe all around the field, she wasnt having any of it.

    No deer down, it nice night in the stand nonetheless. Beautiful still sunset.

    Do you have the assault or alpha bottom? I uswdan assault hang on and the size never really bothered me, I'm just wondering if it will being a climber with nothing below me.
