My rifle season is over. Nothing this morning. Pushed our property with 6 guys. A few small bucks and a few fawns is all we pushed out (no shots).

Not sure when I’ll be back in the stand.

Well, here he is. Not the monster some of you have taken but he's the first buck I've taken in many years with the bow.

This was on my MI public land spot. The loggers have not been working the last several days and the deer movement has come back to normal.

I was seeing deer from 7 until I shot him. Lots of does and fawns and one small spike.

I saw this one out about 60 yards and it didn't look like he would come by my stand. I hit him with a couple low grunts that got him to stop. A third and he turned and came right toward grunting and hair standing up. I said before that there didn't appear to be any rut activity in that area. He proved that wrong.

He got to about 25 yards and then made a small circle looking around. He caught my arrow when he stopped his circle.

He piled up in an old cut over that still has a crap ton of brush and lots of water due to all the rain we had. The drag was a real treat.

Now, to get cleaned up and put to my stand here at home. The wife is at her girl friends. While the cat's away.......
