Go find him. Because that looks like a dead deer walking . He’s a tank!
Hell if the coyotes didn’t find him, the meat should even still be good

Looks about as big as one I killed in Alberta a few years ago. Good looking yote! Spray it down with a fur-friendly flea treatment before you take it the taxidermist.

I haven't been on much because of 2 reasons...1) I've been awful sick for the last 10 days and 2) we got so much rain here in MA that more than half my stands are inaccessible, I'm talking chest waders aren't enough to get you to my tree because the river is overflowing.

All that said, I got to go on my first blood trail of the year this morning. My buddy shot a small doe last night. His first arrow he wasn't sure about but she circled around his stand and gave him a second shot. It was hard quartering and he got her back a little bit. He followed blood with his brother last night for about 300 yards. Blood was good but definitely had gut in it so when they lost it, they backed out. We started it over at first light today. We found that she doubled back at the spot they lost blood last night. It took us about an hour from there until we found her. Turns out his first shot went through the front leg and just barely cut the brisket. Second arrow went in just in front of the hip and came out at about the 4th rib (guts, diaphragm, 1 lung). I turned on the GPS tracker while we were walking and the total trail was just over a half mile but she ended up about 150 yards in straight line distance from the stand. This was his first deer with a bow so he's psyched.

I tell you all this to say thanks to all of you for the blood trailing stories, good and bad. He doesn't follow this page but it helped knowing your stories so I could relate real world knowledge with the sign we had in front of us. We slowed down and didnt get frustrated with bad blood sign. Thanks again everyone!

Thank you for all the congrats. After looking this guy over, he is not one of the bucks I have a picture of, therefore, there are atleast 2 I know of that are still alive.
Gun season opens in a week or so, hopefully they make it to next year. Those knuckleheads shoot anything that looks like a deer.
I have 1 buck tag left but 3 deer in the freezer so I'm pretty much done for the year.
