This wins post of the year in my book! We are a big family, we don’t always see things the same nor do we have to but one thing is for sure we all have each other’s backs and would do anything to help another hunter. Whether it’s advice, equipment, confidence, or just a laugh.

I appreciate it bro! But I don't want to hunt anywhere else. These woods hold monsters and I am determined to get it done here. Will it be this year? NO, maybe a 1 in 1,000,000, chance. I will sit in the spot that I know the bucks have historically cruised during the rut like I should have been doing the past few days. This is my own fault and I will endure it one more time. This is what not scouting during the offseason will get you. The spot in the woods where i hunt is good for the rut, but nothing else. there is so much thick vegatation and not enough land features to dictate movement any other time of the year. There is endless sign, but it is a crap shoot. Like my dad always told me, if you put in your time it will eventually happen there. I believe it, and he is right, for that one section of the woods. I need to forget it until the rut next year.

Moving forward after monday, it begins. I am going full beast (Dan infalt, hunting beast) I have a list of things I will get accomplished, and I WILL make it happpen next year in the same woods, just not in that section. I was running through my options on the way home of potentially new spots to hunt. Sat down to eat dinner and Rocky 4 was on. the music montage song "there's no easy way out" came on. It hit me, I will not hunt anywhere else, I will not take the easy road out and go somewhere else. I love these woods and there is a reason why I love these woods. The few people I have ran into out there who were shotgun hunters scouting (checking their trail cameras) last year said there are "corkers" in here, but they are unkillable, that's why no one hunts here anymore. BULLSH!T!!! They are killable, I just need to go about it completely different, and I will!

Quick question which is warmer fleece or generic ua hoodie? Only problem is fleece doesn't have a hood. The big jacket has a hood though.

Congrats again FEB. man, that is just hilarious that you put dead deer inside a SUV...much less, a brand new 4 runner! I think it's funny, but I would do it too if I had to. But the wife would kill me and then I would be back there with the deer! Haha

This is exactly why I don't check cameras in season day to day while I'm on a parcel. I would crawl into a bottle of Templeton if that happened to me. One bottle for every point.

Well, tomorrow AM is it for MI. Generator is on the fritz, should have enough juice to run the furnace through the night but that's about it. Instant coffee manana!

Mini rant- I think my cousin effed up and put E10 in my gas can....:throw:

It will run anywhere for 2-30 (yes thirty) minutes then conk out. Let it sit for a couple then fires right up. Rinse, repeat

Doh! Haha, I’ve been there many times I meant (jerk!)
Like 2 years ago when I staggered around in the dark, picked a tree with a big S curve in it to use my climber on.
I made it up about 7’ and got stuck, wind was totally wrong , but I stayed there.
15 minutes into daylight I hear footsteps, I turn around to see a massive 8pt (I mean big) staring at me, my stench hitting him in the face.
He didn’t run, he did those slow, high leaps and Blowing for like a half mile. But I just know, he was laughing his ass off :bigcry:
