Ok, I'm completely sick. Could've went this morning but wiped out for several reasons. Check card on my camera when I come out tonight and look what's there. No one to blame but myself. I don't even know what to say. [IMG]

Definitely been there man. Couple year ago I woke up late on a Sunday having full intentions of sitting one particular stand. Wasn't even that late but I was like screw it and stayed home. Pulled my card out of camera couple days later to see the biggest buck we had and one I'd been chasing for 2 years 20 yards form stand at 10 am the morning I skipped. Was pissed, but my buddy who owns the farm shot him week or so later during shotgun season. He ended up being 170" deer.

I appreciate that Joe but you know, it is totally my fault. My partner didn't want to go and I could've but didn't want to leave him without a vehicle for half the day. My fault completely though. This type of buck is why I came over here.

Oh they’re probably loaded with them. Believe it or not they will stay on the dead deer for quite a while. I know because I’ve had dozens of deer in the back my grand Cherokee.
    Never saw a tick.
I even took a buck home one time and the temperature dropped to single digits. I left that sucker in the back of the truck for about two weeks in my driveway

I sat from 9:00AM until 5:00PM today. I saw 4 doe this morning at 9:40AM at one stand, then moved to another stand site 75yrds away at 1:00PM. Saw nothing from there, except when I was packing up at dark I heard one blow. Oh well, I'll give it another shot on Monday.

I also swapped out cards and I think tall brows is still in the area. Poor pic, but I'm pretty sure this is him! I have gotten 5 pics of him, but every one of them is at night. Same buck?

Congrats to those who got a deer today.

My public land hunt today went well. The loggers took the day off and the deer enjoyed it. I lost count at 8 baldies and 2 bucks. The deer pretty much acted like it was out. Only 1 doe was the least bit skitish. This tiny spike was the only one that acted the least bit "rutty". He patrolled a half acre spot and at least shadowed the does.

Getting closer but tomorrow morning is my last chance to hunt early season.
