Ended up trudging through about 8-10 inches of snow at my hunting spot for the last 3 hours. My god am I whooped. Ended up seeing 7 deer total but the wind was ridiculous. 20 mph sustained winds with about 35 mph gusts coupled with a lot of fresh powder made my eyelashes freeze lol. Getting warmed up and fueled for the evening hunt. The snow should stop soon and wind is supposed to die down. Good old lake affect snow

CongratsFEB. No deer here, 1 shot in the last 30 minutes? I also looked around and realized there is a guy in a chair about 90 yards to my east? Gotta love public!!!

I cannot move in my stand without my frozen bibs rubbing together or my boots smashing against this stand. It’s so loud. Idk what I should do.

Did just have a buck chase a doe through the willows.

Joe since your starting over with tree hunting, check out tree saddles. It's the lightest option for long walk in on public and you can't hunt any tree. I'm on my second year and loving it. There is a learning curve, but it lots of fun! If you have any questions and want to look into it, I can direct you in the right place to get started.

Interesting! I’d like to explore all my options. There are straight trees everywhere here so I was leaning towards a light weight hand climber.

CAT scan showed Appendix was fine. Likely gas as I originally thought.

Sad part is, 5 minutes before they finally called my name I had given 10 more minutes before I left as the pain was subsiding.

Obama still haunts me, $250 ER CoPay grrrr

The climber I know your comfortable with because it wraps around you. The saddle will do the same thing. It's kind of like swing on a kids swing set. The biggest thing to get over is hunting facing the tree. It feels strange at first. Took me a whole season to figure it out, but this season it feels like second nature.

Good luck if you are this morning. I won’t be back out until Monday morning. Really hoping the buck I almost killed last night stays locked on to the doe he was with for the next couple days. I was in a 75 acre river bottom bordered by private to south and west. The WMA is archery only but gun season started on the private land this morning. Unfortunately, it is less than 400 yards to private in both directions.

Well didn't see any movement down here. Gonna regroup and try to get a plan for the mid day/afternoon. Winds are supposed to get worse.
