Great cool weather with a good crisp breeze, if it were rut or even pre rut it'd be easy to put an all day sit in, nothing moving yet though

I'm out and about this morning for some hogs. My morning has not gone according to plan... Started climbing up my ladder and wasp were all over the damn thing!! Glad I looked up on that step and seen them. Otherwise my hands would've been stung to crap. I don't do wasp so I climbed down and I'm hunting from the ground

So far just that deer in the dark feeding on acorns. Drifted off before I could see if it had headgear.

Sun is just filtering down to ground level here so hopefully one of these does decides it's time to high tail it to bed. . I usually get a little action at this stand between sunrise and 9ish

Sooner the better, them Spotted Cows I killed last night are plotting their revenge. Don't know if I'll be able to make it past 9-930

Just had a doe over my left shoulder maybe 70 yards walking toward the neighbor's property. She looked delicious.

Ah well one went up and away to the bedding area, the other kept meandering around till she got to the path I walked down, stopped, milled around for a bit then turned around and followed the other. there was one clear area they passed through I didnt have a lane for and though about getting uot of the stand but didnt want to risk the motion but when I climbed down after my hunt the shooting lane would have been perfect, good to know for next time I suppose. I was just glad I saw some deer! Good hunt

My opening weekend is over, boys and girls. Not a total bust. Could've shot that doe yesterday and saw 1 today at least. On the walk out I scouted a corner of the property that I've been thinking about hanging a set at for years, and holy crap there's a superhighway through it this year. Going to hang a ladder there now then head home. Probably won't hunt up here again until November. Have to take 2 next weekends off due to family stuff then Michigan and Indiana until then.

    Good luck everyone.

If that's a deer trail, and not one made by humans, you've got a killer spot! :tu:

Just remember, September October and November are really bad months for a wedding if you are a bow hunter. Congrats to the two of you, and wishes for many happy years together.
