Alright sorry for delay had to wrk today. So not a giant or my biggest but I’m damn proud. He’s guessed to be 4 1/2-51/2 on the decline. He got me excited and wasn’t gonna eat tag soup like last year chasing a ghost lol.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
So story short, shot him lil after 8. First light came 3 does, then group of 5 , then another group of 5 all within 20 yards. The last group looked back and there he came thrashing, rubbing a tree and chasing the does. I picked a shot window and let it rip. Arrow glanced off limb and hit him in the gut. Watched him wonder off. I backed out for 5 hours. Came back and easy blood trail for 60 yards then lost it, got frustrated and backed out. Came back started doing 10 ,20 yard 360s around last blood. Picked up trail and wondered how I missed it and it’s because he button hooked me. Creeped dwn the easy trail glancing up. Well got within 20 yards and he bolted out of brush stumbling, and crashing into trees. Only went like 25 yards max and out of sight. Then I heard a crash and waited 10 mins. I knew he was on his last leg. Crept in there and sunk another arrow in. Then dragged him 350 yards up and down hills. Every time I kill a buck on that property they always run down a hill I have to drag back up lol. Builds character I guess

I might be a sissy, but I ain't no dummy.

Cold weather gear in the wash, not taking a chance the winds die down as forecast. But low teens/double digits is cold weather so.....

Yessir...I've got it all. Learned some hard lessons in weather as cold as we are about to get. It's really hard to stay warm when sitting or standing as still as possible.

Almost got a crack at a shooter on my walk out. As I approached the edge of the field the was a shooter nose down working his way towards me. I nock an arrow. Just as he gets to my shooting window he caught a glimpse of me and booked. Nice wide tall rack.
I had a few other smaller bucks come by at very close range.
I only have a few more days to get it done so hopefully something will come together soon.
