    Man I'm glad I talked myself unto hunting this morning. Got up in stand right at shooting time, was fully dressed walking in so took my time. And i usually don't comment on scenery but its beautiful out this morning. Not the best wind and hoping I dressed warm enough but I'm in one of my better stands ready to go.[​IMG][​IMG]

    Which part of Illinois are you in? I'm headed to NE MO in a little while. Wondering how much they have up there.

    Phew. Finally all set up on stand. A little late, but better than never. To add to it, I sounded like a herd of elephants coming through the swamps and ended up getting a little water down my boot when I crossed a creek. Oh well. At least I am hunting!! Good luck all!

    My view right to left. Walked in through the big open area, crested a little rise and had one big deer on its feet broadside at about 30. Couldn't see horns through snow but it was big and long like a dinosaur. Hunkered down, nocked an arrow (past shooting light) and waited a few before popping up. It was way out of range by then, not alarmed just on a mission.

    I need to cut that branch on my left side it's killing me, lol

    work unfortunately... I was debating coming in late but Im gonna be hunting tomorrow, then all day sunday and monday, I had hunted the past two mornings as well so thought i would catch up on a little sleep today!
