Saw 3 doe and a little fork horn tonight. Passed on two of the doe. One was at last light and didn't feel like it at that point. The other was broadside at like 15 yards at like 5pm. Passed on it. Was like a fawn sized doe. Kicking myself still though.

Tonight was great. Only way it could have been better is if I shot a big buck. Saw 10 does 2 fawns and two 3 1/2 year olds that are going to be studs next year. I also saw a damn good mature buck but he went down the draw out of range. I would have shot him for sure. One more night before I have to head home.

Isn’t a cold front moving through? I thought those things didn’t affect deer movement anymore :)

I'm sure like most of us the deer appreciate a good strong cold front after stifling temps in the 90's. I put off mowing this afternoon for Sunday morning when i might mow for the first time without breaking a sweat. Hopefully the last tume this year.

The ones in October/November usually pack some winds with them

He's younger than I would have liked, but he is my best to date and I'm not going to have to worry about tough meat. Doing my happy dance. [IMG][IMG]
