But why? why would the deer be going through there? not looking or smelling for does because there is no bedding in there.

EDIT: Not trying to be a jerk, just curious for learning purposes

So had a small 4pt walk right up behind me . Everything is soaking wet at the moment. He got a pass looking for his granddad.

6116D3EF-5BDF-4499-8D89-199766258812.jpeg I just got setup. Hunting on my buddies property and he has me in some hardwoods next to a really thick bedding area.

Well that's it for the morning, just made it back to truck. Nothing else came by besides what crossed the neighbor's field. Gotta go be a grown up for little bit but if rain holds off will be back out this afternoon.

Congrats again Mcarthur, he look like a good one.

Unless you know the exact layout of the land he's hunting, there could easily be bedding areas not too far from his location. Anything is possible during the rut. Bucks travel great distances to find receptive does. The sky is the limit during this time. :tu:

Don't necessarily need to be posted up on bedding. Travel corridors are just as good. Where I hunt it is nasty thick outside of stand locations so I don't have open areas like this. What I see a lot is bucks on a mission, they are simply focused on finding a doe and not so much on using cover or trails for that matter. Wandering around aimlessy using the wind as their guide rather than trails.
