I'm absolutely miffed no one killed a Halloween buck. I was certain a few would drop, not just this thread but there isn't one Halloween buck thread.

I'm following this and a couple of Virginia Facebook pages and several nice bucks have been taken this morning and last night. Guess that old saying of location location location is proving true this morning.

Had one right there to take but missing half his rack. The friday eve before gun season has been good to me I am optimistic about that.

It seems like death happens every other day on this thread... when I dropped my buck off at the processor there were 3 other mountable bucks shot the same night

Today we should see some blood

Driving around for work last night and there were hardly any deer even moving as compared to Monday and tuesday...

I would love to get out after them but it's still raining. It's a light rain and it comes and goes and it should be great hunting weather.

Since I'm colorblind, though, hunting alone with the nearest tracking help almost three hours away is risky even in the best weather.

Me hunting alone with the leaves soaking wet and rain coming down is irresponsible in my opinion.

Hunting with a gun would be a different situation, but I just don't want to risk it with a bow.

This is what the bucks are doing now. Once they finish about 10 beers they will be ready to mate with any doe that moves.

I'm not really sure just yet. As of now nothing has changed, I'm just hoping it doesn't escalate further.

Grabbed Gatorade and some Snickers last night, washed my clothes. I'm a scent killing shower away from my first hunt of the season.

Nothing wrong with that, I won't hunt evenings when I have to work the next day, and limit my shot selections if I hunt the morning.

Wish more people would. I sometimes cringe when I hear people say they have 15 minutes left on stand before they have to leave for work.

    I have a predicament, do I;
    A) Stay here in TN where I know the property
    B) Go to Mermet Lake Illinois where I have minimal scouting

I'll be in the stand sunup/sundown, either way, all weekend. Mermet is 1:45-hour drive, but I have a place to stay that is 10min from the area. I saw a buttload of doe at Mermet a few weeks ago and 2 bucks, but I didn't really venture far into the woodline.
    Here is what I'm thinking:

As of right now I will be in a stand the next 10 days. If anything changes I'll just hit public land with a friend who will be camping there.

It's IL there's a booner behind every tree.

Only a doe and fawn so far, had to make a stand switch because the wind is shifting. Really quiet and hardly a wind. Still very happy to be out, it’s beautiful day.

I'm guessing it's a typo but what in the world is the "dislike" for? I've rec'd 2 other from some dude name Mbcoyote? Not sure on those either.

I wonder if they meant to hit the "like" button but hit the unlike button by mistake?
