Out in the stand I shot a doe a couple of weeks ago. Exchanged 2 SD cards in the way in. One medium buck I would shoot. Got permission a month ago to hunt here. 3 stands up....trying not to screw things up....scout from the stands. I haven't seen any big rubs or scrapes indicating a larger buck, but I have seen 7+ different little boys. It's the time of year anything could happen. I hope it happens tonight!

    Get out and hunt

Sometime, most of the time...all of the time I wonder if the deer are thinking about me too! Tomorrow starts the 15 day grind until gun season here in Michigan. We are slow at work so I’ll have some free days off and a couple scheduled days of my choice. Let’s get it ladies and gentleman, November is here!

It feels like deer weather, decent north wind in my face and I can hear the BHOD theme song.. so, I've got that going for me. And yes this plot needs some iron. 20181031_165947.jpg

Saw 3 does. Took. A shot on one broadside at 25 at a weird angle around the tree and slapped the hell out of my arm with the string. Got a lovely goose egg there.

The thicket wasn't a thicket it was an unmarked natural spring creek. So I backed out went around and went to where I found all those signs and went about 200 yards to the top of the ridge and found a scrape line and posted up 20 off of it but the deer came up the ridge from the creek behind me (reason i had to bend around the tree) and I had positioned stand facing the scrape line. After making the 700 yard walk back out I'm almost glad I smackedmy ar.hahaha

Temps rising fast here in VA and looks like temps will be 10 degrees warmer the next 10 days than they were the last. Makes it a little tougher. But the heck with it. Hunt. Kill.

Live from the VA hospital. Just spent 9 hours in the VA Er. Either Lyme or Stroke symptoms: dizziness, painful headache in the back of my head, stumbling walk, nausea. I’m not gonna lie, it started yesterday afternoon while hunting. (I fell three times walking out) I didn’t want to over react, thought maybe I was tired and cold. Crazy how we justify things in our head.

Ct scans came back negative, but they came back that way two years ago when I had my stroke. The MRI department was closed, so they want me to contact my neurologist tomorrow.

They took a lumbar acupuncture a.k.a. spinal tap to check for Lyme. Four different doctors multiple attempts by each, no one can get it. I am in more pain than I was going in. Excruciating is an understatement.

Ill be on bed rest throughout the weekend. I won’t be able to make it out till sometime next week. I’ll be living vicariously through you all!!

    KILL!!!!!

Wow man, sorry to hear this.

Dude, put your friggen season on the back burner and get yourself healthy. Ain't nobody gonna give you grief for that, dedication and passion is one thing, but being able to do it for the long term is what it's about.

Heal up man, don't press yourself and put yourself in harms way if something were to happen an hour hike into the woods.
