Were we too rough on him that he doesn't want to play? I'd feel bad if that was the case. *Cough cough*. (Thanks for the dime Shane). I mean I'd feel bad mannnn.

Giant Schnauzer ran through ours, did a complete Wile E. Coyote somersault and kept on running.
Had to get a SportDog electric collar. Only had to shock him 2x; he's perfectly behaved when he's wearing it now I don't even have to have it turned on. He just feels those electrodes in his neck and turns into the most obedient dog ever.

Blood looks good. I gotta think that's a dead deer with a 2"Hypodermic. Did the arrow partially pass thru and break off or did the deer pull it out?
Unless it hit in the shaded areas a2" wide 10" deep channel has pretty much gotta hit something vital even if it was forward.

Curious, what was the end result on your shot? Seemed to expire pretty quick so assuming not complete gut shot.

I knew he was quartering and I had to stop him so he was on alert. 20 yard shot. Entered through furthest back rib and exited low about 8 inches behind shoulder....shredded the liver. He was stiff as a board 4 hrs later. I actually thought he was gonna tip over as I watched him stand on a ridge about 100 yds away. I think he may have spun when I shot bc I aimed much further forward...or I just suck at shooting.

At least you are recovering them. I'm surprised at some of my shots sometimes. I know where I am aiming and feel like I am holding steady, let 'er rip and WTF??? But then watch them tip over within 25 yds.

Yet the ones I think are slam dunk either go for a quarter mile or unrecovered.

First deer I ever shot with my bow was an 8 yard chipshot. Small button buck, double lung amd perfect. Blood pumping out both sides, ran 125 yds, down an embankment, across a creek, up a hill and into the nastiest and thickest Russian olive. Probably 600 yds on his path.

Are you hunting as a non-resident this year?

You've been having some good sits for the short time you have been there.
