Looks like it’s going to be in the upper 30s tonight so I’m just going to get up early and try to find her before hunting in the morning. She should be easy to find as long as I didn’t bump her when I checked the arrow and the coyotes don’t run her down tonight. I hate this feeling, it’s going to be a long night.

6 hours min., preferably wait until sunrise when you can properly track and look ahead, guts can plug wounds on both sides.

If you go in an earlier you only increase the odds of coyotes getting her and never finding her. It's a chitty dilemma to have, but it is the only right one. You may find her after the coyotes, but at least you will fimd her and know for certain.

It's the right choice, good luck in the morning. Update with results or post up some questions if they arise on the track, keep all the water holes in mind while tracking.

Good move, smart. It does suck knowing the coyotes might get her, but it's the right thing to do.

Half joking, and half not. They are considered a big cat. Out west Mtn lions are hunted and considered fine eating.

I did find one guy though that does hunt & eat bobcats and he did indeed tell me they have a similar taste to Mtn Lion.

I do count myself as a fairly adventurous eater and would give it a go, given the chance. But the wife would likely veto.

Though with any predator meat, you do need to thoroughly cook the meat to avoid any potential food borne parasites. Steve Rinella learned this when he didn't cook bear meat enough and ended up with Trichinosis.

I'm going to hunt Halloween evening but won't hunt until the 5th. Going to Iowa to film for a couple guys. Don't have enough points to hunt.

    People eat coyote.

I'm sorry, but I am at a point in life to where I do not need to depend on dog meat to survive

I'd rather try armadillo than coyote, and I'll shoot anyone that tries to hand me a bowl of armadillo stew.

Nothing wrong with hunting the 5th on, I start on the 2nd as my normal schedule is 4 10's Mon-Thurs. so I bookend my week off with 3 day weekends.

Looks like it might be a rainy start to my vacation, rain doesn't deter me though. I'll hopefully have a scrape or two near a stand and have to limit my shot selection a bit, but I will hunt regardless.

I would be out Sunday, the 4th, if I wasn't going up north. Weather should be great!
