Hunting without seeing deer is about as painful as fishing Kentucky Lake (insert favorite lake) and not even getting a bite let alone catching a fish.

Atleast when I’m fishing I usually got a beer close enough that I can occupy myself...

    LOL!

This has been quite normal for Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday hunts in 3 different stands...

Beans got picked in the last 48 hours and full moon and I suck at hunting. Any combo has more to do with it than anything else!

Just saw my little piebald doe across the pasture by the looks of it she may be heading my way.

Called it an early night. Found a beaver in our creek making a dam. Time to get the traps.

7 dsys from my official first hunt, but the whining starts tonight.

First time my work has the annual chili cook off to where my vacation does not start the next day. Was looking forward to a couple bowls knowing I didn't have to climb a tree the next morning and sit for hours.

Out of 8 different chili's, not a single one was worthy of eating a bowl. I do not understand it, chili is not complicated. Might not be world famous, but my god it's not supposed to taste like Prego.

Who puts freaking corn in chili? Yeah, true story.

So in the end, after tasting samples and voting. I voted for the pot of taco meat, at least it was kinda Mexican, and headed for the brats and hot dogs.

They don't allow game meat so I have refused to cook, that may change next year even if it means I use beef. At least I will kniw there is something edible.

Probably belongs in the rant thread, but so do most of my live from the stand posts

Just say no. The closest might be corn bread served with chili.

It also got burned so that doubled down on it.

First thing I thought was the probably heard "chili con carne" and processed it as "chili con corne" or "chili corn carne". Absolutely ridiculous

You haven't lived until you have tried my family's secret homemade chili recipe. Although its not really homemade, its just 8 or 9 cans of Campbell chili soups dumped in a pot. Come to think of it its not that much of a secret either... But still, its chili! I think...
