Blew it. Had a doe coming in to an opening at 20 yards. She stopped just before and I could see a limb I didn’t have in the way while seated. Started to move my thumb to let down and sit and the release went off. Only the second deer i’ve Had in range this year. I was wearing a heavy under layer that your thumb goes through to keep it from rising when you put on more layers and that fabric grabbed the barrel of the release when I wrapped my thumb over. Of course I never had that on when I practiced with my gear this year. Yet ANOTHER lesson learned.

Not as windy as yesterday and rain coming in tomorrow, time to pack a lunch shower and hit the road.

    Congrats to Tony & Mudshark!

Hope to be in a tree this afternoon after the rain has moved out. Coldest temps we’ll have for a few days.

I had a great hour in the woods today .Was set up at 655 am .And at 735 I had a little 6/8 pt chasing a doe, they didn't stop would not have shot him any way 10-12 inch spread. Good to see thou. So I picked my phone and I believe I post about that .then 5 min later a another doe come into the picture .I'm looking for something following her, nope so draw on her she spooks a little but she right back in. I settled my pin on her vitals and squeezed . She had quartered towards me when I meh to stop her .she took off to about 60-70 yards and the walked away, I'm thinking oh crap wtf, looked at arrow and saw dark blood. I tracked for about 80 yards and I heard her take off , .so I sat on a log and played on my phone for 30 minutes .But in the mean time I heard her die / kicking the leaves .I knew she was dead. Gave it 10 minutes and picked up the blood again, went maybe 40-50 yards found her, yea
