Can't leave it on that note, what'd he shoot?

    Good luck on the track.

Today was a cold day everywhere... I am absolutely shocked we didn’t see a bunch of bloody arrows

Tons of weekend hunter pressure makes them skittish around here.

I'm headed into the 15B bucks lair tomorrow morning. He was the buck I was too scared to shoot at last year. Lol

No deer sightings this afternoon. I was in a spot that’s really thick until the leaves drop and between the squirrels, raccoons and possums I must’ve grabbed my bow a dozen times.
Damn near gave me a heart attack!

Come home from work tomorrow evening, mow the grass one last time til spring and empty all the fishing gear from the truck sans a pole for possibly hitting the pond a time or two.

Don't have a whole lot to do really for getting hunting gear in order. Toss a box with everything I need in the front seat and wash my clothes.

11 days and I am officially on vacation. Gotta lot of whining to catch up on

    Sorry, crap signal at camp.
To start, successful recovery. Fork horn. Pics tomorrow. Shot was a little high but got lung and liver. Went maybe 100 yards.
I couldn't be happier for him. This is very possibly his last deer and maybe his last hunt. He's got a 187 gross hanging on the wall and I don't know if this one is any less meaningful.

Dad is 68 going on 98. His body is just wore out. Just 20 years ago he was a beast. Literally toughest SOB I've ever known, but cancer, 3 different types of arthritis, and heart disease have more than taken their toll. Mostly the arthritis. He can barely walk a hundred yards behind camp. Last season he didn't hunt at all. I was surprised he made it up this weekend, he was pretty tore up last weekend and the cold really gets him with both shoulders and knees being titanium.

Normally I hate gutting deer, much less somebody else's. Not this time. Haven't been this happy gutting one since my first.

What a weekend. I'm going out in the AM, will be my last sit for a couple weeks.

Give him a hug tomorrow when he wakes up.

Didn't realize what I was getting into stating can't leave it there. Definitely wasn't meant to be disrespectful by any means.

Enjoy it, brought tears to my eyes reading it.
