Wow. No shooting this morning, but had deer in front of me almost the entire time. Between 715 and 1005, I had 13 does and 3 button bucks come through. About 15 minutes of that there weren't deer within sight. 14 of the 16 came within 15 yards. No bucks in tow. First time on this property this season. I have a picture of a dandy 10 late last December. I hope he is still around - saw him once while on stand last year. Off to help my brother move a couple stands and then hopefully there is enough time to put another stand up for me on the land I shot the doe last Sunday.

Back home. Was an encouraging first sit in that spot. I can't wait to sit there in about 10 days. Nothing within shooting distance so may need to switch up the spot just a bit, but man is it a great looking rut spot.

I will walk in/out of the stand during shooting hours similarly to this. Works pretty well...usually

No more action for me this morning. Wind switched around 9 so I got down to avoid spooking anymore. Will probably be a week before I make it back out. Good luck to all...the time is near

Lunch break looking out over the Mississippi. Had a fantastic morning. Passed a 9, 6, button and 8 does. Lots of grunting and chasing went on right below me. Going back out tonight sitting in a real good saddle. View sure is nice. I’m a loner here tho lol

Really disappointed with how this morning turned out. Thought the first cold snap down here would have them moving a lot but the only activity I had was before shooting light. Whelp, that’s why it’s called hunting.

All set, almost busted my tail in the climber off the bat, got lucky i had my bow in the third hand holder. Wind is swirley but strong hopefully keeps the deer from knowing where I'm at. (That's my excuse for this rookie move). Can't sit this stand for 2 weeks anyway so i think it'll be ok. Got a fresh scrape 20 years away though

Edit 20 yards away, i dont even have tomorrows breakfast planned out

Deer or no deer tonight i can already tell this will be one of the best sits of the year. Cool weather, very breezy, gorgeous night, perfect amount of anticipation knowing busy time is right around the corner... tonight is what it's all about, just feels right
