    Live from Illinois public land, last night absolutely sucked. Map recon was way off, spot I wanted to get into was so dang thick I would have had to punch a deer to even get a chance. Plus, it rained, so I was soaked, fighting the thickest crap in the world and found not one good setup spot. Fitness watch said I walked 3.21 miles.
    Found a tree last night in a different spot and have good lanes and a cut corn field, so I'm here now.
    Kudos to you public land guys, this is not an easy way to hunt.
    Oh and I went past Jurassic park and saw these guys.

    Finally a little action. Fawn came in from behind and stops straight away 5 yrds. No shot and in no hurry. Does a 180 and walks b/t the ladder and the tree. I'm stuck until she makes a move. She darts out straight away back to mom (didn't know she was there) seems that mom ran into a car b/c she can barely walk. She ends up hobbling all the way thru brush or just not good range. I think I could have stalked her decided to sit tight for a while.

    Dang it!!!! Just had a shooter walk straight at my tree and stop at 11 yards!! He got into my scent stream and knew something wasn't right and walked straight away, no shot and he wouldn't stop. Damn!

    I doubt it. He got a big old wiff of me, and definitely didn't like it! Lol all my scent is pooled up under me and he walked right into it. I needed to shot him before he got to me.
