Thanks guys! It was a fun hunt. I had almost zero service, so not much posting from me. She came by right at last light and alittle farther shot then I normally like. But she was still and I had plenty of time to settle in and make a great shot. Couldn't tell were I hit from stand, but when I got my arrow it was covered. About a 75 yard track straight to her.

I was thinking the same, it does seem to be very active for mid-October. And some are reporting seeing chasing already? I need to get my ass out there! :bigcry:

    Congratulations guys.

My interesting night continued on way out. Besides the doe and 2 fawns nothing else walked by so climbed down little before sunset. Made it about halfway back along field edge and looked up to see a deer feeding about 40 yards in front of me. Ended up being a small 8 pointer. Right about where he and I were both standing there's usually a ton of acorns that drop to edge of field. So i froze and stood there watching until he apparently got his fill and started looking around and realized I was there and off he went. Didn't know it but there was also a little fork horn with him that also took off. He was limping kinda bad so will hopefully see the little guy few more times and if looks in bad enough shape may try and get him. Had gotten dark enough couldn't tell what was goin on with him so don't know.

Anyway was a pretty good night, movement is definitely picking up it seems so hoping some of the big boys start showing up.

Thanks everyone. Was a great evening. Ground hunting using only natural cover. Had a fawn at 1yd, saw a Doe and a spike at 30yds. At 6:33 I hear some walking behind me and to my left, completely down wind from me. I slowly swivel in my stool to my left and see antlers down the embankment at the creek edge. Saw he was an 8 pt and decided that I was going to take him if he came up the bank. He took two steps up the bank and started air senting. When he was done he walked all the way up the bank to the edge of the sorghum field and into my shooting lane at 15yds. I squeezed off the trigger and heart shot him(severed his aorta). He ran out into the sorghum 30yds and crashed right in front of me. Was an awesome hunt, blessed to have taken him!
