Back out on the stand after a small setback this am. Cold front has come through like a freight train. Temp falling, misty with 20mph gusts. Love these days, deer or no deer.

    Congrats on the recent deer!

Here's what we had going on in SW MN this morning. Made for an amazing duck hunt! Guessing deer were moving as well. [IMG]

Got a doe feeding directly downwind of me at about 40yds. I can't believe she's not reacting to my scent. She is very calm.

Hunted this morning and saw 14 does and fawns so I had absolutely no time to even pick up my phone. Couple small windows I drew back twice but just couldn’t bring myself to squeeze the trigger because I was not 100% confident. Sent the cold blooded killer (my wife) out back this evening in hopes of shooting one of 4 smaller bucks which would be her first buck that have been coming in around 6:45. I get a text at 6:00 that reads “HOLY ****!!!” She shot a great big doe and watched her drop for the first time ever. She’s now sitting on a huge natural high and confidence booster if one of those bucks come in tonight! I’ll keep you guys posted on the track job and what unfolds in the next hour!

I’m not sure were done here tonight. It’s been an absolute highway and such a treat to be in the deer stand watching this! It’s a matter of time before one of my big boys strolls through. About 45 mins of good light left.

I knew it was a great shot. 24 yards with at an angle of 22 degrees. Ran 70 yards. 20238.jpeg
